Azathioprine
What is Jayempi?
Jayempi contains the active substance azathioprine and is an immunosuppressant used for:
Transplantations: prevention of organ rejection (kidney, liver, heart, lung, pancreas).
Autoimmune diseases: including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, autoimmune hepatitis, dermatomyositis, myasthenia gravis, and blistering skin diseases.
Inflammatory bowel diseases: Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Hematological disorders: refractory hemolytic anaemia and thrombocytopenic purpura.
Multiple sclerosis: when beta-interferon therapy is not suitable.
Jayempi is often used in combination with corticosteroids or other agents to regulate the immune response.
Packaging
• One bottle containing 200 ml of azathioprine 10 mg/ml, allowing for accurate dosing in children.
• Bottle adapter and two oral dosing syringes (3 ml and 10 ml).
Jayempi 10 mg/ml oral suspension is registered under number EU/1/21/1557/001.
